The staff were friendly, but carrying bags up the stairs was a hassle.

It was a solid place to stay with no major complaints. The food, however, was a bit average for the price.

“Guter Aufenthalt mit Hindernissen !”

The rooms were fine, breakfast was excellent, and the à la carte dinner was also very tasty. The location is unique because there are no taxis or buses in or around the town; we managed to arrange a shuttle to the National Park through a friendly hotel lady, both ways. Apparently it was still off‑season in early October. We arrived by train, and there was no taxi, shuttle, or bus available on site, which was very unpleasant—no one asked or offered help. We had to haul two suitcases, a backpack, and a photo bag uphill about 1 km each way. It wasn’t a great start for an otherwise pleasant stay, but the hotel arranged a free shuttle back. A paid shuttle for the onward trip might have been appreciated.

“Typisches National Park Hotel mit Bar & Restaurant”

The location near the National Park is very good, and the hotel offers parking in front of the building, a bar, and a restaurant. The common areas and the room with an electric heater were too cold and too hot respectively. Even though it’s a National Park accommodation, the rooms could use occasional investment.

The walls are super thin; you can hear the adjacent room’s movements all the time.
