What a wonderful weekend! From the moment we arrived, Melli’s charming and heartfelt welcome made us feel at home. Every year my three friends and I gather for a shared weekend, and this time we felt instantly comfortable. The warmth and genuine service were rare. We were especially impressed by the breakfast, which was lovingly served at the table instead of a buffet. We could pre‑order our preferences, and the morning offered many small delights, beautifully presented in glasses with meticulous detail. The old timber‑framed house has a unique charm: creaking stairs, old beams, cozy ambiance, yet everything was impeccably maintained and spotless. After our trip to Hattingen we intended to return briefly to freshen up, but on a beautiful day we sat outside with an aperitif under the tree, glanced at the menu, and decided to stay. Lucky for us! The steak was cooked to perfection, the mushroom sauce was dreamy, and the entire meal was simply delicious. In short: a magical stay in a family‑like atmosphere, excellent cuisine, and plenty of heart. A special thank you to Melli for making this weekend even more special with her warmth and dedication, and of course a big hello to the kitchen chef for this culinary highlight. The location is great and the organic breakfast is superb, but the place is noisy because it’s next to a motorcycle racing track.

The breakfast, dinner, and attentive staff were good, but there were mosquitoes in my large room; after dealing with those nuisances I slept wonderfully.
