We liked it as much when we came here 60 years ago for our anniversary! Nothing else to add.

We’ve stayed here several times over the years, now under new ownership. The updated bar is great, especially with the knowledgeable bartender, Will. We also dined there; the brick‑oven pizza was delicious. Service was excellent. The room was small, but we loved the historic original timbers from 1822. The location is out of the way yet still close to town, and it even snowed on the queue. Great memories, both old and new. We did wish there were more soap for the shower; the tiny bar of soap left was not enough for two people.

The building is interesting and very attractive. Our room and bathroom were quite large and immaculately clean. It’s nice that they leave coffee in the main building for early‑morning risers. Sound travels clearly between rooms, and there are limited nearby food options once the country store closes.
