The mansion looks stunning, with an old wooden staircase and stained glass windows that are truly breathtaking, though the showers could use a bit of improvement.

The place is nice and clean, quiet, and comes with plenty of kitchen equipment, though there weren't many other guests around.

This hostel sits in a historic building with friendly, knowledgeable staff and offers great value for its location; the price is appropriate for a hostel, so it shouldn't be compared to local hotels or guest houses. I didn't buy breakfast because I had other commitments, but the building itself is fascinating and part of Haworth's history, and the staff were helpful and well-informed.

The bed was comfortable and quiet, but breakfast only started at 8.30 am.

The building is beautiful and it’s a 25‑minute walk from the Brontë Parsonage Museum. I hesitated before leaving a review because I don’t like posting negatives, but I ultimately felt unsafe here and wouldn’t recommend it to a lone woman traveler. The window was asked to be left open for ventilation, yet the wire holding it was almost broken, so anyone could open it from the outside (the same issue existed in the washroom). For several hours I wondered if I was the only guest in this huge house, which was scary but manageable. Then some people entered in the middle of the night; I don’t know if staff were present, but they kept talking at 3 am as if it were 8 pm. I understand there are no padlocks in hostel dorms, but I really regretted not having one in my private room under those circumstances. The shared bathroom was just dirty, with things you don’t want to find in the toilet, and there was mold. When I arrived I asked the staff if I could leave my luggage the next morning; they said no because the hostel was privately booked that weekend. When I mentioned it was inconvenient, the guy told me I could leave my stuff until 1 pm. I ended up leaving as fast as possible the next morning, given the whole experience. I suspect this place won’t stay a hostel for long; it seems more profitable to book privately, so maybe they should focus on that and not treat hostel guests poorly.
