Located near JR Kanazawa Train Station, Hotel MyStays Kanazawa Castle offers a Japanese restaurant and traditional public baths. The staff were friendly and the place is well situated. We ended up in the older second building, which had a noticeable odor in both the room and the lobby. The bathroom was tiny and a few fixtures were broken, and the spa‑onsen room smelled bad so we avoided it. On the bright side, there were tea and coffee in the room, and the lobby had lotions and facial soaps that came in handy.

The station is close and the price is reasonable, and the staff were excellent. Breakfast and all meals were delicious, and we even tried local Kanazawa specialties. I overslept on the second day and missed breakfast, which was a shame. I’d stay here again next time I visit Kanazawa. The only downside was that the bath was crowded and it would help if they could manage the crowd by time slots.

The space is huge, but the toilet seat is cold.

Nothing positive. The large bath locker key was broken, the shower only sprayed water, the bath windows were dirty, there were no extra‑large bathrobes, and the female bath required a PIN that wasn’t mentioned at check‑in, so I had to go to the front desk to find out; the PIN didn’t work, but someone else happened to be there and let me in.
