Kirkwall Youth Hostel sits on the edge of Kirkwall, a former WWII base and school, just 13 minutes from St Magnus Cathedral. It offers free onsite parking, a self‑catering kitchen, shared bathrooms, laundry, and a large drying room. Guests enjoy nearby restaurants, pubs, historic sites like Skara Brae, and ferry access to the Northern Isles.

Everything was clean and very organized. The hostel is fabulously run and has loads of parking. All the accommodation is on the ground floor. I only stayed a couple of nights but wish I had stayed longer because there’s so much to see and do in Orkney. It’s one of the few places I’d return to—so much to see and do.
