“Fantastic B&B in a beautiful location, with as fine a welcome as possible”
Nothing beats this place. The welcome alone is unforgettable, and the beauty of the house and its surroundings is stunning. The food is superb, and for Francigena pilgrims there’s a wonderful extra. I was initially worried about food and location because Casa Cani is 2 km outside Berceto, a town with few accommodations. I brought food just in case so I wouldn’t have to walk back to town. My worries grew as I walked down a long, fairly steep downhill from town; walking back up that hill the next morning would be hard. Those worries vanished when my host offered dinner, eliminating any food problem, and then, bless her heart, said she always drives pilgrims back uphill to the trail after breakfast in the morning. Incredible! The rooms at Casa Cani are gorgeous and comfortable, as is the dining area. Casa Cani served an outstanding three‑course dinner with wine. Breakfast was generous and excellent.
