Landhotel Battenheimer Hof

The building and grounds are very well designed and kept in a very tidy condition. The room was quiet. The layout of the two single beds was odd – they were placed in the middle in front of the single nightstand, pushing into the room and reducing the space in front of the bed. The room was listed on booking as single occupancy for €89. I had booked for 2 people (€130) and after I had to switch to single occupancy the price was €114. Why the difference for the same situation?

The apartment was spacious. There was no fixture on the wall for the shower head.

The location and overall atmosphere are good. The place is not clean, some lamps are broken, the shower is calcified, the basic furnishings don’t match the hotel’s exterior, and breakfast is simple – just basic filtered coffee.

I liked the location and the courtyard, but the place was filthy, especially under the bed, and the baseboards and sockets needed a serious dusting. The kitchen equipment was minimal, and it was sad that there wasn’t even a new sponge, just a used one. The bathroom door was hard to close, as was the door between the living and bedroom. The website didn’t show the apartment, and it was a shock that it was on the ground floor with the opposite building looking in. The curtains weren’t blackout, and because the apartment wasn’t ventilated before arrival, the blinds left it stuffy. Overall, it was far too expensive.

The location fit us well and the courtyard was picturesque; the staff were very friendly, and breakfast and beds were fine. Unfortunately, it wasn’t entirely clean, there was no good blackout for the windows, the furniture was mismatched, and overall the place hadn’t been renovated in a long time.
