“Room and host are excellent, but neighborhood is rough and smelly, and towels were only changed once”

The room itself was excellent: small but surprisingly spacious, very clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. It had almost everything we needed for a pleasant stay, and we were genuinely happy with the accommodation itself. The only thing missing was a wardrobe or some proper storage space for clothes, meaning we had to live out of our suitcases for the entire week, which was a little inconvenient. The host was another big positive. Very responsive, friendly, and helpful whenever we had questions or needed assistance. All communication was in English, with no language barriers or misunderstandings, and everything went smoothly throughout our stay, which we really appreciated. We also liked the thoughtful little extras in the shared kitchen, including complimentary coffee and cookies, as well as a fridge where guests could store their own food and drinks. In terms of accessibility, the location is quite practical. The train station is very close, which is especially useful when arriving in or leaving Palermo, and public transport connections make it relatively easy to reach different parts of the city and explore beyond it. Overall, the accommodation itself is of a very good standard, and it’s clear that considerable effort has been put into making guests feel comfortable. The surrounding neighborhood was by far the biggest downside. The area is extremely run-down, with poorly maintained streets and surroundings that can feel quite unpleasant and unsafe, especially after dark. Although we personally never experienced any incidents or were directly threatened, we did witness someone robbing a store one evening, which understandably made us feel less comfortable walking around the neighborhood at night. Another significant issue was the smell throughout the streets. At times, the odor was absolutely unbearable, genuinely one of the worst I’ve ever encountered while traveling. It wasn’t just an occasional unpleasant smell, but something we repeatedly noticed when going out or returning to the accommodation. This made walking around the area a rather unpleasant experience, even during the day. Housekeeping could also be improved. During our 7 night stay, our towels were only changed once, which we felt was insufficient, particularly considering the length of our visit

“Bellissimo soggiorno”

Il check-in è stato molto semplice. La camera è silenziosa, il letto comodissimo, la doccia grande e buonissima. La cucina è molto pratica con frigo, caffè, tè, fette biscottate ed altro. C'è anche un bel balcone con piccolo tavolino che dà sulla via, se si vuol bere il caffè sul balcone. C'è un filo se uno volesse appendere qualcosa da asciugare. La proprietaria molto gentile e disponibile, risponde subito alle domande scritte su WhatsApp! In tutto un bellissimo soggiorno!. Tutto ottimo!

I liked pretty much everything, the room was decent, air conditioned, good large bed, funky lights in the bathroom and a waterfall shower. The noise from outside was very loud, especially police and ambulance going passed at all hours

The room was very clean and comfortable, and we really appreciated having air conditioning, especially because it was very helpful during the hot weather. The shared kitchen was also a great addition, as we could prepare our own meals. The location was convenient, especially because it is close to the central train station. The staff and hosts were very kind and welcoming. Our flight was delayed and we arrived quite late at night, but they waited for us and made sure we could check in without any problems. Both check-in and check-out were very smooth. Overall, we had a very comfortable and pleasant stay. The only thing we felt was missing was some additional storage space or another wardrobe in the room. Other than that, we had no real complaints and would be happy to stay here again
