The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the location by the river is top. Cleanliness could use a bit of improvement.
“Rustic hostel”
It’s a budget hostel with a rustic feel. I spotted a few buffalos by the river. The room was basic, so I had to sleep with a mosquito net to keep insects out.
The staff were humble and polite, the location was nice and the hospitality warm, and the food tasted good. Nothing to complain about.

The spot is gorgeous, right on the river with a little hut on stilts in the middle of nature. We were especially thrilled by the Jungle‑Walking tour. Our local guides Sudash and Manu were very professional and great spotters. We saw a tiger, a rhinoceros and a wild elephant from only about 15–25 m away. They also showed us many different birds and were very knowledgeable about the bird species and plants. Despite being close to the animals, we felt safe at all times. Even with the leeches they were well prepared and caring. Tuk‑tuks for trips or to the village were arranged easily and cheaply. The accommodation is very simple and right in nature, so expect insects, ants and other small creatures in the room. Breakfast was sometimes a bit slow – plan enough time when you have scheduled tours.

The spot is amazing and the family running it are wonderful – I really enjoyed our conversations! They helped me plan my onward travel to Bardia and arranged a taxi to the bus, making everything so much easier. It’s very peaceful, yet close to town and all the facilities, and surprisingly quiet. They also have a restaurant with good food and cute resident dogs. Thanks for the fantastic hospitality! The only suggestion: the espresso machine and Chitwan coffee could be better.
