“Versteckte Kosten, Verbesserungspotenzial, Gutes Frühstück”

The breakfast was good: you get a voucher for the “Teocrito Riccioli” bar downstairs, which covers a coffee and a pastry. However, the rooms are basically part of a family’s separate apartment; you share the main entrance (there are 3 guest rooms and the family’s private apartment). The house is quite noisy; in the room there was a strong smell of air freshener. The bed was unstable and fell apart during the stay. The bathroom was disappointing: the shower was heavily worn, the tap knob was broken, the water pressure was very low, and it took forever for hot water to arrive. Also, the €4 tourist tax per person wasn’t communicated beforehand.

The location is perfect, halfway between Ortigia and Neapolis (both reachable on foot) and there’s parking nearby. The cleaning wasn’t perfect (but still acceptable); unfortunately, sometimes street noise could be heard, even at night.

I spent the day in the owners’ apartment and the mattresses were extremely uncomfortable; they need to be replaced.
