“Not a hotel.”

I liked that the property was an old palace. The rooms were not cleaned daily and clean towels were never provided. There was a lack of privacy; the owner seemed to know when the AC, lights, and windows were on or open. I also felt the owner was in the room when a pair of complimentary slippers were taken, which gave me a creepy feeling.

The location was great, the welcome at arrival was lovely and questions were answered promptly. What really ruined the experience for me was that there was only a normal door between my room and the next one. On the first night I was trying to sleep with a YouTube meditation video on my phone when the couple next door started banging on the shared door. It made me anxious, feeling like I was sharing a room with a grumpy guest and having to stay silent. I could hear them zipping up their cases, making coffee, and making love – that made my stay unpleasant.

The place sits in the old city and was easy to get to! The owner was fantastic and gave us great tips on restaurants and sights. The rooms were very clean and comfortable.

What a beautiful place to stay in Bari! The building is full of history, charm and character, and you can really see the pride and care that has gone into preserving its original beauty while making it incredibly comfortable for guests. Our host was absolutely lovely, welcoming and so helpful, with wonderful local knowledge and recommendations. Every little detail had been considered to make our stay special, from the complimentary coffee, tea, water and treats to all the thoughtful touches throughout the accommodation. Everything was clean, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and having a lift was a huge bonus with all our luggage! The location was fantastic. You step straight outside into the heart of Bari’s beautiful old town, yet the accommodation itself was wonderfully quiet and peaceful. It was so lovely to stay somewhere with genuine character rather than just another hotel room. You can really feel the care and pride that goes into giving guests a memorable experience. We absolutely loved our stay!

“I regret staying there, especially I feel for what you get. It’s very overpriced.”

The location is in the Centro Storico. The room sits right above a restaurant, so it was noisy until late at night, and I could constantly hear what sounded like plumbing. The shower was clogged, forcing me to stop mid‑shower to let it drain and avoid flooding the rest of the room; the curtain had mold on it. The toilet seat wasn’t properly attached and felt unstable. Air conditioning was controlled by the owner, so you had to contact them to turn it on, which would be a nightmare in the summer. The property really needs upkeep and updates, though the host Rafaella was kind and did her best with a place that’s falling apart.
