The property is in an excellent spot and the lockers are a great convenience for leaving your bags. The bathroom had a lot of mold and didn’t look very clean, and the carpet in the room was quite dusty and left a lingering smell throughout the room.

A small room in an old building. The location is great, everything is close. Check‑in went smoothly. The room is small but adequate, fairly clean. The bed is firm, which might be a bit too hard for a woman. Initially it seemed okay, we thought the windows had good soundproofing. Unfortunately on Friday it was very noisy with nightlife. The party at the viewpoint ended around 24, but somewhere nearby was still partying. Sleep was disrupted. Also we got room 1 right by the entrance, and at night when other guests returned, we constantly heard doors creaking, which was very annoying. The room had no kettle or fridge.

Overall no major flaws. The makeup room was set up, but towels were only changed once during the four nights, and there was loud drinking and noise until dawn.

“Fantastic location – would definitely stay again!”

We absolutely loved staying at Bairro Alto Guesthouse! The spot is fantastic—right in the heart of Lisbon, everything within easy reach. A lovely bakery is just downstairs where we grabbed breakfast each morning and enjoyed it in our room with great city views. Another big plus was the helpful parking recommendation from the guesthouse. We arrived by car, and the suggested parking was conveniently close, making everything so much easier. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily return. The only thing to note is that Bairro Alto is lively, especially on weekends, so it can get a bit noisy at night. That’s part of staying in such a central area, and the double‑glazed windows do a good job of keeping the noise down. For us, the fantastic location more than made up for it!
