The breakfast was great (though counted and without coffee, but with plenty of fresh fruit, crisp rolls, and tasty homemade jam), the large kitchen was great, and the location was also good, close to many nice cafés and restaurants. Diego was a super friendly and helpful host who helped me organize tours and always answered all my questions with many tips (and even more). And there was warm water! Unfortunately, the 6‑bedroom dorm smelled extremely of smoke, because the window faced the staff smoking area. So either fresh smoke came in or it smelled like cold smoke. The bathrooms are of a type where the whole bathroom gets wet when you shower, because the shower isn’t separated (I don’t actually find it that bad, but you might want to know).

We booked Greenhouse three times while staying in La Paz because the hot shower, the great breakfast, and especially Diego made the experience unforgettable—he handled everything from local tips to transport, tours, food spots, and luggage storage. Nothing could be better.

Everyone at the hostel greeted me warmly, and the place feels really cozy. I felt right at home from the moment I walked in.
