The host Dominique was incredibly friendly, and we enjoyed breakfast in the lovely garden. The accommodation itself was stunningly beautiful, quiet, and situated near France’s significant State forest, la Foret Domaniale des Senonches. La Pastorale is just a 45‑minute drive from Chartres and even closer to Giverny, famous for Monet’s house, garden, the bridge, and water lilies.

The countryside vibe was very peaceful and the atmosphere welcoming and friendly. The host was warm, the breakfast was good, and the place was calm and relaxing for spending time. There were a few nice restaurants and small towns within 10 km.

A lovely house in a pastoral, very quiet setting. Dominique was adaptable, and we had breakfast in the garden. The idea of having breakfast on a small table in a somewhat dark room didn’t enchant me much, but luckily Dominique did what was necessary to satisfy me. Thank you!

We were very well received and appreciated the calm of this house, the independence of our room with nearby parking, and the comfort of the bed. The breakfast served in the garden was good. The lighting in the bathroom was insufficient.
