“great staff, friendly and helpful”
The breakfast was great and the staff were very helpful and kind. The bathtub was chipped and looked worn.
“After more than 15 years of staying at this hotel, repeated room-access issues, missed plans, and additional problems in”
The spot was good and the staff were friendly. The keypad/lock for my room failed twice during my stay. The first time the staff replaced the batteries and I stayed in the same room; the second time they let me move temporarily to a room across the hall while the lock was repaired, but I couldn’t access my belongings or change clothes because I’d already gotten wet that evening, which was a big hassle and caused me to miss evening plans. This wasn’t the first time this happened—my previous stay had the same issue—so that’s three lock failures in two visits, which is very disappointing for something as basic as reliable room access. The temporary room had its own problems, adding to the frustration. I was kept awake by a loud buzzing noise every eight minutes for about 30 seconds each time, apparently from below my room. The thermostat in the second room also didn’t work properly, which was less disruptive for me but still added to the overall annoyance. I do appreciate the staff’s efforts: they replaced the batteries for the first failure and offered another room while repairs were made after the second.

The location is great for Williamsburg, but the staff were very unresponsive and seemed to ignore the toilet issue we had.
