“Havre de paix”
The hotel sits deep in the countryside, only reachable via a dirt and cement path. Its architecture is striking, with a lovely pool and terrace. Our room was on the ground floor, spacious, with a large double bed with footboards, a built‑in wardrobe with mirror, many doors and drawers, air conditioning, a ceiling fan, a fridge, a shelf, and several lighting combinations. The décor is pretty. The bathroom is roomy, with a sink, toilet, shower, and basin, and hot water arrives normally. One minor annoyance is that the sink is stuck against the left wall and could have been more centered, and its mirror is a bit small. The staff are charming and attentive. The restaurant on the second floor offers a beautiful view of the forest and serves English or Indian breakfasts. The menu is varied and generous, and warm Ayurvedic water is served discreetly. Optional Ayurvedic massages are performed beautifully on the ground floor, with or without a doctor’s involvement. Wi‑Fi works perfectly! One small drawback is that the hotel is 30 km from the airport and lies on the runway axis, but that wasn’t too inconvenient. That’s all I have to say. I recommend this haven of peace. A very feminine regret: no iron available.
If you like being lonely, this is the right place. You have to pay for the entire stay in cash; credit cards are not accepted. It is very problematic to withdraw so much money at once from an ATM. The reason is that the cash received is not reported to the state/finance office, so no contributions are paid to the state. The state therefore has no money for waste disposal. Trash and especially plastic bottles are burned, buried, or thrown over the wall.
Great view from the first floor and breakfast room. Unfortunately a bit hidden. We hired a specific rickshaw driver who knew where to pick us up. No other Ayurvedic treatments or meals besides massages. Yoga only on request. A bit remote and hard to find from the airport; you must definitely call the hotelier. The promised transfer did not arrive. No Ayurvedic treatments besides massages.
Wonderful little place 🌞
Beautifully clean, intimate atmosphere, everyone gets to know each other. The only pain was having to get tut‑tut everywhere, but the penalty you pay for being so quietly situated makes it not really a negative.
