The location was great. The bed, however, was shockingly uncomfortable—a thin mattress on a cot frame, supported in the middle by a 2 × 4.

You can check in at any time. The floors were dirty and stained, the carpet smelled, the sheets were stained, the garbage bins were dirty, and the walls were dusty.

Not a lot of positives. We knew this was a motel‑style place but expected something a bit better. There was rubbish left by previous guests in the bathroom cupboard and under the bed; we threw it in the bathroom bin. The bedding looked far from fresh, very crumpled, with two smallish pillows—one pillowcase was white and the other matched the duvet cover. It seemed nothing had changed since the previous occupants left. We would have reported this to the office if it had been open; it should have opened at 9 am, but we waited until 9.10 am and saw no one, so we left to get breakfast. The B&B we stayed at the night before was cleaner, nicer, offered a wonderful breakfast, and was a good deal cheaper than Canterbury Inn. I would not stay there again.

Basic, clean, good location for our purposes. The towels in the bathroom were smallish.
