The Morar Hotel, established in 1902, is a family-run hotel in North West Scotland's highlands, situated 3 miles from Mallaig, the southern gateway to the Isle of Skye. Scenic views of the Silver Sands of Morar and Inner Hebridean islands of Rum & Eigg are available. The hotel is 3 miles from Mallaig ferries and 1 mile from Loch Morar, with Morar Rail Station a 5-minute walk away.

Probably nothing good. The hotel was old, the room was dirty and cold. I had to shut the bathroom door because an incredible chill leaked out and it smelled of sewage. There were cut nails and hair on the floor. Terrible experience, perhaps the worst hotel we've ever stayed in, especially for the price we paid. Unfortunately it was the only one available between Morar and Mallaig.

The view from the restaurant or breakfast room. The staff were very friendly. The breakfast. The large free parking. Not far from the ferry to cross to the Isle of Skye. Good restaurant.

The location and some of the staff were decent. Waking up at 6.50am to water dripping through the ceiling! Still waiting for an apology. Being told to pay for breakfast before even sitting down. The shower fitting fell apart when I tried to move the shower head. I booked dinner at 7pm but when I asked for a menu I was told I would have to wait because of a coach party.

The hotel is comfortable and the staff are very friendly. The sound insulation isn't great, and a large family was unfortunately very noisy in the corridors near our room.

It was close to the ferry. No hot water in the morning – not a big fan of cold showers.
