The place was a steal, spotless and roomy, and the vibe was snug; the only hiccup was a toilet flush that needed a quick fix, but otherwise everything hit the mark.

The room was clean enough, but we left after one night even though we paid for two because the noise from the bar above was unbearable; the listing didn’t mention that the room sits over a bar, and when other guests arrived it was even louder.

This pub‑turned‑B&B works if you can handle the stairs; breakfast was decent and freshly made, staff were super friendly, and the evening buzz was fantastic—guys were chatty, the young lads always made space for us, and the Guinness, Powers, and Hennessy flowed. The only downside is that the Castle Inn lacks a restaurant, so after a day out you’ll need to hunt for a bite elsewhere before heading back to the bar to watch Gaelic football or play darts and pool; there’s a take‑away chippy a short drive away. If you’re driving an electric car, it’s cheaper to charge over the Irish border since the north is pricier, and you’re not far from that border here.
