I never had to meet any staff; I just punched in the code and went straight in. Strictly speaking there were three double rooms, and the tatami room doubled as a living area where you could also sleep. Three washbasins, plenty of space, and an abundance of supplies made everything feel more than adequate. The kitchen had plenty of utensils, and a cute, friendly cat roamed freely around the inn—no need to worry about it. There was no breakfast. The inn is very close to Yufuin, so exploring the town was easy. A washing machine was available, but there was nowhere to hang clothes to dry. The room had several mosquitoes; my child got bitten more than ten times in one night, and the bites were swollen and itchy, yet there were no mosquito repellents. The road leading to the inn was extremely narrow, so never bring a large vehicle; we spent a lot of time parking, and the owner only told us that a large car could park at Kentoji. Showering and soaking in the hot spring required going outdoors, which was a bit inconvenient. There are two shower stalls, and the hot‑spring area also has a shower.
