The beach location was lovely, a new block of 14 rooms with huge beds that were very comfortable. I stayed in two rooms with Mozzy nets, and the reception and cleaning staff—Judy, Claris, and Winnie—were always friendly, respectful, and willing to go the extra mile. The restaurant/bar was always busy, the music and groups were worth listening to, and the staff were always ready to help. At least 12 TV screens showed football all evening plus two pool tables; we only used the pool once, it could use more safety equipment, and there is no lifeguard on duty. Security was very strong, so I felt safe all day and night. Breakfast was very slow, the food was poorly cooked and lukewarm, so skip it.

The breakfast was fairly cold and served at the bar; unfortunately the car could only be parked in front of the room inside the hotel. The ground‑floor room by the sea was nice but the staff were noisy during beach activities. I was disturbed all night because the hotel is also a nightclub, café and night restaurant. The cleanliness was not good; the water was salty and I had no idea why. The water was already hot and you had to wait for the receptionist and cleaning staff, and the kettle was old. Security was only average, so I won’t stay at Mombasa again.

The hotel is right next to Nyali Beach, and there’s a bar‑restaurant just beside it with a good local crowd and a lively evening vibe. The rooms at the back are quiet. They’re fairly clean, have air‑conditioning and a small fridge. The rooms could use a bit more upkeep, especially the bathroom with rust and limescale, and we had to ask for fresh bath towels because the ones we had were stained. We opted for breakfast at the bar, but it’s a single menu that doesn’t suit everyone and it doesn’t even include coffee; if you want coffee or anything else you have to pay extra.
