“Beautiful location, clean rooms and friendly staff, but disappointing facilities, poor organisation and inconsistent adv”
The resort sits in a beautiful spot, giving a peaceful escape from the busier parts of Patong while still being convenient. During our 16‑night stay, our room was consistently clean and well‑maintained. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and approachable, and we always felt safe and comfortable around the resort. The beautiful surroundings and overall cleanliness were definitely highlights of our holiday. Unfortunately, several aspects of our stay fell short of what we expected from a Marriott resort, especially after staying for 16 nights. The rooms had very poor soundproofing, so it was easy to hear noise from neighboring rooms. Our shower drained extremely slowly, leaving us standing in pooled water while showering. The television offered limited channels, with reception frequently cutting out. Another disappointment was the confusion around breakfast. When booking online, breakfast appeared to be included, yet upon arrival, we were told it would cost extra. This was frustrating, especially when planning and budgeting for an extended stay. We were also disappointed by the lack of enforcement of the resort’s advertised pool restrictions. Certain pool‑access rooms were promoted as areas where children were not permitted, yet children were regularly swimming in these pools. While we understand that this is a family‑friendly resort, guests booking accommodation based on specific advertised restrictions should reasonably expect those policies to be enforced. Lastly, the shuttle bus service was poorly organized. Despite making a reservation in advance, we arrived the following day to discover our names were not on the booking list. Individually, some of these issues may seem minor, but over a 16‑night stay, they became increasingly frustrating. For a resort operating under the Marriott brand, we expected greater attention to detail, better communication, and more consistency between what is advertised and what is actually provided.
