Very clean and the staff are very friendly, there is a restaurant on site. Phenomenal, expensive but delicious. Maybe it’s far from Xanten by bike.

The rooms were very nice, pet‑friendly, the surroundings lovely, the staff friendly, and the beer garden was great with excellent food, though the party was a bit loud.

Very nice staff, large room and very good food 👍🏻. No fly screens on the windows! Lots of mosquitoes in the room everywhere, already residues on the walls and ceiling.

“Meine neue Heimat heißt Spickermann”

The house’s specialty, the spit roast, is legendary. I arrived on the day of the German Unity Day and was immediately drawn into a huge, fun, endless party with dancing and singing; the people and guests formed a unity that made 3 October 2026 truly memorable, with dancing lasting deep into the night. Food, singing, and barrel‑oiled Ouzo were plentiful, and the air felt healthy. I woke up at 4 am to a lone cow’s scream, saw a spider on the window winding a fly, and on Sunday morning at 7 am a fog wall appeared. The open field had more dogs than people, and many honest conversations told me only one thing: the tourist tax was fully justified because residents ride the SL42 for free. Property prices and astronomy were discussed in quiet companionship. The current public transport link to the Ruhr area (45 km / 4 transfers / 2.5 h from house to house) says only one thing: better days are coming. Spickermann in Vynen will become a pilgrimage site for all kinds of thirsty travelers, passing commuters, and battery‑bike drinkers. The international kitchen team from Russia, Romania, Greece, and Germany is ready to turn every party idea into reality. I would celebrate my wedding here completely relaxed because I am in good hands. May God bless the Spickermann house, and my new second home will be room 7. The only downside: on 5 October at 25 °C at the Xantener Nordsee, you can no longer swim.

The location is great, and the restaurant serves excellent food. However, it was clearly stated that we were two people, yet that was not taken into account; there were no two main pillows, no towels, no cups or glasses in the room or bathroom, and there was noise from the bowling alley.
