“The positives can also be the negatives depending on your point of view.”
The team was super friendly and went out of their way to make sure everything was right, and the layout was great. Five villas surrounded the pool, giving us a feeling of a private oasis; we enjoyed a swim every morning and afternoon. Breakfast was fantastic. The location sits in the heart of town, so restaurants, bars and supermarkets are within easy walking distance, some right outside the entrance. During the day it feels almost like a quiet retreat, even though a busy town lies just beyond the front reception. The room’s air‑conditioning worked well. The complex felt safe and the staff were alert to anyone entering reception. Because it’s a small complex, the staff knew everyone’s names and always addressed you when walking in. However, everything needs a bit of TLC. The pool has broken and missing tiles, and even though it’s cleaned daily it still looks like it needs a good scrub in places. The bed, bedding and towels have seen better days and never looked truly white. The toilet cistern was cracked and the seat was loose. Everything seemed in need of a thorough clean. We had to request a deep clean halfway through our stay and a change of bedding. The system they use of placing a shell on the bed when you want clean bedding didn’t work; it was only spotless after we asked. Being in the centre of town brings noise. Loud music from clubs and bars nearby can be heard most nights, which is fine if you enjoy that scene but not if you want a quiet night. Earplugs are provided by the bedside. As a predominantly Muslim guest, I was awakened around 4‑4:30 am by the call to prayer, which at that hour was loud.
