“Gut”
I stayed in a nice room with a great view and the air‑conditioning worked well, but the staff could do a better job caring for the hotel’s cats. They belong to the owners, yet they’re extremely skinny, even the little ones, which was a bit sad.
“No volvería”
The location is good, right on the road and close to both town and beaches, and the room is decent. However, you have to climb a lot of stairs to reach the room, which is torture if you’re lugging luggage. The Wi‑Fi is poor, and the staff seem unmotivated. They work with a nearby motorcycle company that scolds you not for the price but because they locate your bike and take it, charging you as if you’d received a police fine. If you’re going to use that service, be extremely careful.
“Good, but need some improvements”
I liked the view, the room, and breakfast. The room was nice and clean, and it had a window that’s important for me because I need daylight to wake up. Overall, everything was okay, but compared to other islands it’s still overpriced. There’s no kitchen and no free water; a 20‑liter bottle costs 20 pesos. This was the first hostel in the Philippines that didn’t provide free drinking water, which was weird. The heater didn’t work properly when I arrived. I chose this hostel because of the AC and heater, but the water was cold or boiling. For the first few days, it was impossible to take a normal shower. I told the staff several times about the issue; after two days nothing happened. They came, checked, and left. Only on the third day did a master come and fix it. Since then, the lady from the staff walked around with a sour face all the time, showing hostility toward me at least. I don’t know if that’s her usual mood or a personal attitude, but it was not pleasant. There are no ropes for drying clothes.
“Budget-friendly stay with breathtaking views over El Nido”
Coluradel Hostel is a solid pick for travelers who want value without sacrificing scenery. The highlight is the breathtaking panoramic view from the hostel, overlooking El Nido’s iconic cliffs and sea, especially at sunrise or sunset. The vibe is relaxed and social, so it’s easy to meet other travelers while enjoying one of the best views in town. Rooms are spacious and limited to a maximum of four, which is definitely a big plus.
The sunset view from the top floor, where my room was, was beautiful, and the free breakfast was delicious. My bed was comfortable and the locker space was good. They arranged a tour for me that turned out to be very good, and there are a few nearby restaurants; the Outpost Hostel is up the road if you want to go socialise. No one warned you about the number of stairs up to the hostel, especially if you’re on the third floor. It was fine for me, but in the heat with a bag it can be a lot 😂 The staff were helpful, but I had to ask for the bathroom to be cleaned because it hadn’t been touched in a few days and the bin was full. I also told them the sink was broken so the water just fell out the back, but it wasn’t fixed and I stayed there for four days.
