The location was quite good, but the service declined; the guest house still managed to book me in.

“We stayed, we left.”

Firstly we would like to thank your staff for accommodating us before 14:00. The view was nice. Reception was good. 1. We had cockroaches in your room, not just one but a few which has varied in sizes. We did report that to the lodge manager/supervisor and request for insect spray. He did bring us, a small container of Doom but it was empty not sufficient for us to spray the room. 2. We did not have a kettle in the room and had to ask for a kettle. 3. The bathtub had a patch, as well as the outlet. This is not good hygiene practices, especially in a lodge, where you have many people using the facilities. The bacteria will grow in the grooves of the patches. 4. The shower had a loose cover over the outlet. I twisted my ankle when I stepped onto it, and lost my balance, I could have fallen through the glass, as I had to support myself from falling, against the glass. The drain also had a lot of “nasties” which again is not good hygiene practices. The insert that was inserted for the shower floor moves when you step on it, the installation was not done proper and it needs to be filled. 5. The toilet seat cover had cracked paint, again poor hygiene. 6. The extension cord was damaged, which is a safety risk, and Galagos Lodge can be held liable should a person electrocute him/herself. 7. Other issues which may not be severe, but I would say do have an impact on aesthetics. The glass on the sliding doors are not clean – it looks like it could have been like this since the doors was installed. 8. The front door screws are coming out on the door handle, also on the plate cover on the lock, resulting in not able to close the door. The door was damaged before. 9. The holes in the wall were covered but it is very much visible. 10. The stainless-steel railings down the staircase had cement splashes presume from when it was installed. This can cause hand injuries (lacerations). 11

Everything was excellent: cleanliness and friendly service, with no negatives.

“Disappointing”

The view and jacuzzi were good, but the shower head was dysfunctional, the jacuzzi pipes leaked, the Wi‑Fi signal was weak, and two single beds were joined to make a double king bed.
