The hostel is clean, comfortable, well maintained, and the location and view are great, but the building is starting to feel dated and needs updates; it’s still a cool old‑school hostel, yet Beto, who’s now 60, is clearly feeling the passage of time.

Nothing. The toilets and showers were untidy, there were no quilt covers or bed sheets, and it was noisy.

The staff were friendly and the breakfast was well prepared, but I really had to complain about the shower: I had to keep squeezing the tap to get water, and the building feels a bit gloomy with very few power outlets in the room; we were just two guests and had to share outlets, which would have been terrible if we had been at full capacity with four people.
