The location and polite staff were good. The breakfast was terrible: the bacon was rock hard, clearly cooked and reheated multiple times, so hard it snapped in half when I tried to bite it. The mushrooms were leftovers from the evening meal, cooked in a steak Diane sauce, not something you would serve for breakfast. Since it was just me at breakfast, it was unreasonable to expect freshly cooked food. At £13 it was extortionate for what you got and its quality. Extremely disappointing and no refund was offered for the breakfast. I was just glad I didn’t pay for an evening meal. The room was very dated, carpets worn, bathroom tiles had limescale and badly grouted. At first glance the location and exterior suggested quality, but that was far from the reality inside.

Nice location, lovely village, very convenient for us. The room and bed were a little small. We didn’t like the cooked breakfast; it was a little dry and we couldn’t understand why baked beans weren’t offered, which would have made all the difference.
