Charles was the most delightful host I’ve met; he welcomed us warmly, the house was very quiet (my room was at the back), the bed was comfortable, and breakfast was excellent. The only downside was that the property was hard to find because the sign was unclear; I only spotted it once I was walking. Also, the bathroom wasn’t as clean as I’d hoped.

Budget friendly and low‑key in look and feel, not really a guest house, with a friendly and warm host.

It was perfect for me: an affordable single room with a basin (and a toilet just down the corridor) and optional breakfast. The room was very small, the bed narrow but very comfortable with fresh, clean linen, and it was close to Hampton Court, which mattered to me. The communal bathroom needs serious renovation; the owner has arranged this but must wait for work to start in autumn. I think there are also en‑suite rooms.

Pleasant, quiet, spacious, with a lovely relaxing garden. The only issue was the shower facilities, which were very, very outdated and needed a look to understand.

A very accommodating house that was incredibly sympathetic to my situation. We didn’t end up staying there, but I’m sure it was lovely.
