I loved the location—it was so beautiful and very comfortable. The bathroom smelled awful, it would not flush, and everything from the kitchen to the shower could have been a lot cleaner, and the price being almost $200 meant the value of our stay wasn’t at that price point.

The spot was super cute and the vibe felt private and cozy, with a gorgeous setting. But the place was dirty, with moldy food left in the fridge, no hot water for the shower, and the hot tub took 8 hours to heat up and had an extra charge if you wanted it pre‑heated; there were also lots of bugs and live larvae in the water.

The place looked even more beautiful in person, and I appreciated the land acknowledgment and donation; the goats were adorable, the outdoor shower was lovely, Ollie was the best girl, and the hosts were responsive and helpful. The hot tub had mosquito larvae swimming inside, which made me nervous to use it, but that may just be the charm of the woods.

The stay was peaceful and private. However, there was only one bed, and the room could have fit a second bed. When it rained, there was nothing to do. The shower was outside, and the restroom was in a separate building from the bedroom.
