The host was an absolute angel. She recommended restaurants and told me I could call her from anywhere on the Garden Route if I needed help or had problems, because she knows someone everywhere. That was absolutely fantastic for a solo traveler. Breakfast was great and the staff were very friendly. The room and bathroom were one; it was a bit cold after stepping out of the shower.

The staff were lovely and the owner was great! The rooms were clean, breakfast was delicious with plenty of tea and coffee. The location is picturesque with a turquoise sea lapping one sea front. The southernmost point of Africa (if that’s what you’re after) is a 9‑minute drive away to Cape Agulhas, where you’ll also find some great restaurants (Gavins Italian was particularly nice). The harbour (to see stingrays) and sunset is a few minutes by car (maybe 15 minutes to walk).
