“Very disappointed”

I landed at 16:00 and found the reception closed, with no staff on site for the whole four days. I had to call the building to learn how to enter the room, and no pre‑arrival instructions were sent. The advertised laundry room was missing, and there was no soap in the sink or shower dispenser, nor a sink plug. A dirty pair of knickers lay on the radiator, and the single plug in the room was awkwardly placed. When I emailed about the washing machine, I got no reply for two days, then a Polish response telling me to use a nearby laundromat. That first night I was freezing because the heating didn’t work and the quilt was too thin, so I had to ask the cleaner for an extra blanket.

The room was in the basement and the window was so high it couldn’t be closed, making it cold at night. The blanket was thin, more like a throw, and there was nothing else to keep warm. Street noise seeped in through the window, which was at sidewalk level, and the drywall walls let in sounds from adjacent rooms. The bedside lamp and night lamp didn’t work, and the room was dark because the blinds were closed. Only one shower and one toilet were available for several rooms. Both the room door and the toilet door jammed. No staff were present in the building; the only service came in the morning to change the sheets.

I couldn’t stay more than an hour because the room was unbearably cold. The constant beeping made it impossible to sleep. The duvet was only about 1 cm thick, more like a sheet, and the heating was off with no way to turn it on—apparently it wouldn’t work for another month. The window didn’t seal even when fully closed, leaving a 4‑inch gap that let in drafts and street noise; the picture shows the gap clearly. When I asked for a refund, the staff rudely told me they “don’t accept complaints” and that “no one else complained.” They also claimed they saw me on the bed and asked if I had cameras in the rooms, but I never received a reply. The mattress felt like a thin, overused prison bed.

I was never given a room number, the phone numbers listed in the message didn’t answer, and the staff refused to refund the fee for a stay I never used. I strongly advise against booking here.
