We were greeted with a warm welcome, the room was spacious and well-equipped, and each bed had a bathrobe in addition to towels. Every morning a 2‑liter bottle of water was placed on the bed. On the ground floor there was a free coffee station with an espresso machine, a microwave, and a toaster for items from the convenience store. Being right in the heart of Gion meant we could walk to many sights almost around the corner. Several convenience stores and restaurants lined the main street, and a cozy corner bar nearby offered small local snacks in the evening. The Japanese breakfast included in the rate was good, the location was quiet, and the bathroom was generous. The wallpaper could use a refresh, but everything was very, very clean and only a touch dated.

The location was great, it was easy to go in and out, and the breakfast was tasty. There were bugs in the room. The hallway floor was dirty and made me uncomfortable. I wanted the cups that could be used in the room to be placed in the same spot as the amenities, but the location was confusing.

A smaller hotel in a quiet neighbourhood; the room wasn’t flashy but had everything you needed for a few nights.

The room was roomy, the breakfast options were decent, the place was clean, and the receptionist spoke English and was helpful. The rooms are very, very old – you can see and smell it. The location was not very central, and you had to walk a long way.

The location is unbeatable for exploring the Gion area, the decor is eclectic, and the room is spacious. Breakfast was a set Japanese‑style serving with no other choices besides the drink.
