Located within a private concession in the Kruger National Park, Hoyo Hoyo Safari Lodge features 5-star luxury suites resembling beehives, with circular timber decks offering views of the waterhole and surrounding plains. Each air-conditioned rondavel suite has a private deck and stone bathtub, surrounded by earthy colours and locally-sourced fabrics.

The location was great and we liked being able to go off‑road a bit. The staff were very friendly, always smiling and ready to help, and the food was also great. I loved the vibe, but I expected more from the game‑drive experience overall; we didn’t stop for sundowners or coffee on both rides like other lodges of this style.

We had an incredibly special few days at Hoyo Hoyo. From the moment we arrived, we were treated with such kindness. They really do their best to make sure every detail is thought out. We were so grateful for Suitboy and will always remember the incredible sightings we saw with him. Would highly recommend. Nothing!

The location is perfect, a watering hole for the animals that can be observed from the lodge. A nice terrace with a view into the bush. The staff is very friendly and fulfills every wish. Price/quality. The room is much too dark, the lighting is very poor, especially in the bathroom—shaving etc. is not possible. There is only an outdoor shower. No fridge, Wi‑Fi is very bad. Our safari guide Andrew was a disaster. Instead of a safari he kept making longer picnics, he was his own best guest. We did not book the lodge for a picnic. We saw almost no animals, and when we did, he was not able to position himself well. We have had many safaris in Africa, but none have been this bad. At departure you are forced to give a tip.

The food, service, and hospitality were good. The transfer price to get to the venue was a downside.

I had an unforgettable stay where the staff were kind, welcoming, knowledgeable and delivered 5‑star service, never turning down a request. The food was amazing, with a wide variety and beautiful presentation. Our guide, Suitboy, was exceptional—he worked hard to ensure we saw everything we wanted, including the big 5, and shared his deep animal knowledge while welcoming our questions. He also supplied drinks, blankets, snacks and hot water bottles on cold safari days. We stayed 4 nights, covering 3 full days of safari and 7 game drives—exactly the right amount. On our departure day, our early flight was helped by staff who packed breakfast for the road. We met many friendly people and felt grateful to experience our first safari at Hoyo Hoyo.
