The quiet, remote spot gave the rooms a beautiful old‑Japanese vibe and the hot‑spring baths were delightful. The walk up from the bus stop was steep, awkward for luggage, and the added breakfast and dinner weren’t clearly presented as a menu but rather a buffet. I didn’t mention I avoid fish and shellfish, so it was hard to change that on the spot.

The private onsen in the room was great, breakfast times were long, the room size was fine, and the borrowed towels worked. The public onsen was closed because of tattoos, there was no washer/dryer, and the restaurant was either shut or opened too early.

The staff were courteous. Unfortunately the bathtub drain was clogged, causing hot water to pool on the floor, there was no lift so the silver‑age guests couldn’t manage, and the lack of windows meant we missed the view entirely.

Having a bathtub in the room, two beds, ample space, and great views were great. The entrance and access were bad; it’s very far from the bus stop and with luggage it’s hard to get to the hotel.

The food was extremely tasty and the private open‑air ceramic “goemon” bath in the room was wonderfully spacious. However, the bed making was so stiff I couldn’t fall asleep, a dish was served just before we finished the meal with a confusing “what is this used for?” question, the ventilation duct was noisy and kept me awake, and I got lost three times on the way to the hotel.
