Featuring century‑old exposed beams, a stone fireplace, and terraced gardens framed by woods and fields, the hotel offers tranquil rooms with countryside views. Its privileged location provides easy access to Brittany’s highlights, including Saint‑Malo, Dinan, and Mont Saint‑Michel.

The manor hotel looks out over the river and the room itself was fine, and the host was very nice; we had to switch rooms because the one we were first given, through the breakfast area and up the stairs, was too cold, so we moved to a ground‑floor room with a nice patio accessible through sliding doors—if the season is right. The remote setting made it hard to find even with car navigation, the bathroom was tiny, and the toilet was awkwardly positioned right next to the sink and facing an odd direction.

The Manoir de Rigourdaine feels like a quiet escape by the Rance, with a tastefully restored manor, stunning estuary views, and terrace rooms that are very pleasant; walking around the grounds naturally slows you down. It’s far enough away to enjoy the silence yet never feels isolated, and the staff are especially attentive with great advice. The breakfast highlights regional and local products, and you quickly feel at home—just wish you’d booked another night because it’s so calm, comfortable, and pleasant that you regret staying only one night.
