The location was good and the staff were generally nice. The room was horrible.

Ideal location. A bit of maintenance is missing. They offered me a taxi to the airport instead of an Uber, and when I got to the airport the taxi driver overcharged me. I paid to avoid further arguing, but they should be more careful with their recommendations.

The Opale Hotel deceives and cheats. I had a very disappointing experience. On my first stay, the bathroom overflowed because of a clogged drain, flooding the room. Even after staff cleaned it, I stayed because I was already settled, tired, and didn’t want to change rooms in the middle of the night. A week later I returned to the hotel and received a noticeably smaller room for the same price. When I asked for an upgrade, staff first said no rooms were available, then offered me another room for an extra 60 €. I asked how that could be if none were available, but got no clear answer. I reminded them that I had stayed a week earlier despite the flooding and asked for a different room as a courtesy; they refused. After posting a negative review, the hotel contacted me via WhatsApp and explicitly offered an upgrade and discount on my next booking if I deleted the review. I trusted them and removed it. When I tried to book again this year, I was only offered the regular price. When I brought up the previous agreement with customer service, they seemed to forget it and told me they could offer a room at the normal price but no discount or upgrade.

The staff were friendly and the location was amazing, right in the center. The rooms and bathroom were very small, especially the shower, which was hard to fit into for someone who isn’t very big. We booked two twin rooms but they weren’t available initially; they later arranged one room for us, and the next day we finally got both twin rooms.
