The tatami room was charming and lovely with a balcony. The staff were friendly and welcoming. It did have a slightly stuffy, damp smell, and the cleaning wasn’t quite up to par. The place feels worn and could use a bit of tender loving care.

The location is good, but the Google location provided is incorrect.

It’s very cheap, and the basic facilities are there so it’s not inconvenient. However, something like dust mites in the futon caused me to get bitten in several places when I woke up, and it was quite itchy.

First of all, it’s inexpensive and only a 5‑minute walk to central Kyoto, which was great. There’s a convenience store nearby, and it’s not far from Sannenzaka, which is very nice. The facilities are clean, the bathroom works well, and there’s almost no contact with other people inside the hostel!
