The Den at Yala

The staff were very accommodating and welcoming; we enjoyed a tasty dinner on site, and when we told them we didn’t need breakfast because it was included on our safari, they still gave us fresh fruit and water for the trip. They offered tea or coffee after the safari and let us use the bathroom in our room even after we had checked out. The room was huge and the bed was very comfortable, and the air‑con worked well, which was a bonus. However, most people visit before or after a safari, and there wasn’t much to do at the accommodation, plus it was too far from town to walk. It would help to advertise games for guests and to offer a mini‑bar in the room.

The room is huge and very comfortable, with everything you need. A small bonus: the bed is truly gigantic! The hosts’ hospitality is incredible—they’re adorable, very available, and helpful. The food is also excellent, carefully prepared with generous portions. They also helped a lot with organizing our safari: everything was simple, practical, and perfectly arranged. We even received small snacks for our excursion, a very appreciated touch. I highly recommend this accommodation for a night in Yala. It’s somewhat isolated, but exactly where you want to be to go on safari and fully enjoy the experience.

This was one of the best hotels we stayed at in Sri Lanka! It’s a shame we can’t give more than 10/10. The hosts are absolutely wonderful, incredibly kind, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything you might need. They truly go above and beyond to make your stay perfect. The room is huge, spacious, and very comfortable, and the bed is incredible—I've never seen such a big bed in my life! The food is exceptional as well. I really recommend having both dinner and breakfast at the hotel. The vegetable curry in particular was absolutely amazing. We had such a wonderful stay and will definitely come back as soon as we can. An unforgettable experience from start to finish!

The hospitality was amazing and the dinner was delicious. The rooms are enormous and the location near a quiet gate for Yala makes this the perfect place to stay if you’re planning a safari in Yala. Nothing else to add.

The service is outstanding. The local food served is delicious and fresh. The local knowledge and information about the national park is second to none. The rooms are large, clean, and presented perfectly. Nothing else to mention.
