The hotel was clean, but it’s dishonest and doesn’t stick to the prices listed on its own website. I had an incident with my dog where they tried to charge 35€ per night instead of the 25€ shown on the French site; they later updated the site to show 35€. They also claimed to have sent me a message via Booking to inform me, which was false; I had to prove it on my phone. The room they gave me wasn’t the balcony room I booked through Booking. I didn’t want to waste more time fighting over the room error. Also, check‑in happens at the 4‑star hotel on the other side of the street, while the rooms are in the older Lowen building. The room was renovated but faces the busy main road with a large view. Double glazing and blackout curtains keep it quiet. The bathroom was spacious, the bedding was fine, but they put two single beds together with the headboards to make a double, leaving a big gap between the wooden headboards of the two beds…

We stayed at the Sackman Wanderhotel on a half‑board basis, and both breakfast and dinner were served in the restaurant of the Genusshotel, which was delicious and cozy; kudos to the chef and the whole kitchen crew. Saturday’s candle‑light dinner was superb. However, the hotel urgently needs renovation, and the room cleaning was inadequate.

The location is beautiful and borders nice walking areas. The two hotels next to each other are very pleasant, and the Wanderhotel is cozy, though the room itself was quite large. The staff were all very friendly! The pillows on the beds were very thin, so we couldn’t sleep well. We asked the reception if we could get extra pillows, but they only answered “no.” It’s a shame that our sleep quality wasn’t optimal.
