“Loved the hotel, I can understand why many people go year after year”

What can I say about the Oaks? We loved our stay there. It’s a beautiful place, the room was very comfortable (bed and the sheets are to die for). The staff is a 12!!! They gave us plenty of tips and they were all a delight. I also did some water boarding and kayaking. Breakfast was very good. My husband is still talking about the shrimps and grits. We had an excellent dinner here too (much better than at a famous Bistro nearby). Tip: we wanted to go during the weekend but it was fully booked, so we changed it to the early week. This hotel is a wedding favourite so it’s not possible to go during weekends in the summer. There were two things that I believe can be improved. The coffee!! There is no such thing as a cappuccino for breakfast or a proper coffee; I had to go to the reception to get something resembling one (this one also not great but better than the one served). The other thing is that there should be a shower outside the pool. After the kayak I was full of sand and I had to ask the gardener for a hose to get cleaned.

The staff were friendly, the place was quiet, and it was clean. The multiple floors made it hard to move luggage, and the bed is very small.

I had a fantastic experience at the pub, thanks to the fabulous bartender who made our stay even more enjoyable.
