The room was nicely decorated, comfortable, clean, and had everything I needed, including a handy fridge; the bed was comfy. Breakfast was the worst I’ve ever had at a hotel or B&B—just a basic continental spread of cereal and fruit juice, poorly presented with juice in cartons and milk in a plastic bottle on the table. A staff member barely spoke and was abrupt; when I asked what was on the menu, she said none—just cooked or vegetarian cooked breakfast. I asked if toast was available and she said yes, but there was only basic white bread from a sliced bagged loaf and jam, no marmalade. My tea came in a mug and was so weak it tasted like hot milk; I prefer strong tea, so I couldn’t drink it. The waitress seemed uninterested, reading while I sat, making me feel like a nuisance. The windows were open wide and it was very cold. The whole experience was awful.
