The place is in a great spot just off the A75, ideal for a night’s stop on our southward journey. The tiny village nearby has a rich history and a short walk leads up to an old castle that offers sweeping views of the countryside. The property itself feels quirky in a charming way, with roomy accommodations and complimentary hot drinks available at any time. We dined at the on‑site restaurant, where the home‑cooked meals were tasty, the menu varied, and the wine selection was solid. Nothing else to note.
