“Great spot if you're playing at Anarchy Brewery”

The spot was spot on for us, just a stone’s throw from the venue where the band played that night. Getting in was a breeze, and parking overnight at the nearby shopping centre was reasonably priced. The rooms were tidy and comfy, though the club below kept the noise going until about 3 am. Reaching the host was a hassle—there were several phone numbers listed, but only one worked, and when I called ahead about parking I was hung up without any reply.

The room cleaner was helpful and nice, the room was big and clean, the shower was good. The only thing I would have liked was two keys because there were four of us and the other two were younger and stayed out later, so we had to let them in, but we made it work. I would definitely stay again; everything under one roof—pub, nightclub, Weatherspoons, takeaways—was just a short walk from town, overall a good class.

“A great little budget hotel.”

The location is close to the local metro station and there’s a cheap car park just around the corner (an Aldi car park where you can pay £4.60 for 24 hours). The place itself is secure with a coded key entry on the street, then a key entry for the first floor to separate the upstairs pub from the hotel rooms, and then your individual room key. The rooms were nice and clean, with comfy beds, and the private toilet/shower facilities were modern and clean as well. The only thing to criticise—and this isn’t the hotel’s fault—is that the hotel is two stories above a pub/club that stays open until about 2 or 3 am on Fridays and Saturdays, so it is a bit noisy at night. However, it wasn’t too loud for me personally, and if you have a pair of Loop ear plugs or similar, it’s easy to sleep.

“Worth the price!”

The only downside was that the room was located near a late‑night club, but we knew that when booking, so it wasn’t really a problem. We didn’t realise that to get back in late at night we essentially had to place our hand over the whole keypad to “wake it up.” That cost us a few minutes and we had to ask the bouncers next door.

“Sports Bar underneath with pints for £4 can’t moan at that and then nightclub underneath even better”

The stairs are steep, but it’s an old building. You can’t expect to put a lift in.
