“Great Stay!!!!”

I stayed at this hostel and found it to be a pretty neat spot with a bunch of original touches. It’s right next to the town centre and local sights, and the Clew Bay Cruise is just a 20‑minute walk away, while Matt Molloy’s is also nearby. The building was spotless, but the real highlight was the staff—especially Daniella, who really made a good impression. On the downside, the rooms lack enough power outlets for phones and other devices, and there are also not enough hooks for clothes in both the rooms and the bathrooms. I heard a refit is coming up soon, so hopefully those small issues will be addressed. Those little things won’t stop me from staying here again.

“Le moins cher du coin...”

The hostel is in a great spot. It’s the cheapest accommodation around. I was there on a weekday, so it was quiet. I think a previous guest had a drunken night before me, and the wall next to my bed still had vomit smells. The showers don’t lock completely with keys. I didn’t see any staff in the morning to report these problems.

“Sad”

The price was the main plus. The room was freezing, even with the heater on. The mattress was soft, not firm. The shower was awful—press the button, then by the time you turn around it’s off, so you have to keep pressing it over and over. It felt like the 1980s. The water was lukewarm, not hot.

The location and staff were great. The bed made a squeaking noise with every movement and clearly needs oiling.

“Good location”

Checking in was easy and the rates were very affordable. The hostel isn’t the cleanest or best I’ve stayed at, but it’s a decent stopover from Galway.
