The Swan

The location is fine, but parking is limited. There’s no special arrangement—just “park where you can and maybe move later in the evening when there may be space in the car park.” Breakfast was very good. The evening meal was disappointing: the steak & kidney pie with veg had puff pastry on top of meat gravy, and the vegetables were overcooked.

“Heading north in the UK”

The people are super friendly! The stay feels like a real inn experience with very nice rooms above the pub. My daughter and her partner stayed on the second floor, while my wife, son, and I were on the third (top) floor. We ate in the pub and the food was exceptional! Overall, everyone in the family really enjoyed it.

“The Swan at Topcliffe”

Our second visit to the Swan at Topcliffe was very enjoyable; the proprietors and staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, well kept and comfortable. The breakfasts were a real treat with an ample array of cereals, toast, etc., and excellent cooked options. The evening menu was great with well kept beers. I love the place, great value for money and great ambience. I intend to make further visits. I have absolutely no negative opinions.

“Staff were very attentive and it was comfortable for an overnight stay”

The room was spacious and comfortable, but the layout had the room and facilities on different levels, and the electrical sockets were hard to reach.

“A pleasant one night stop over.”

The room was very comfortable with a super warm duvet. There were good choices of food for dinner and breakfast with generous portions. I would recommend The Swan to anybody. Perhaps a second chair in the bedroom.
