Hotel Santiago Apóstol is located in Santiago de Compostela's San Lazaro neighbourhood, 10 minutes' drive from the historic centre. The hotel lies at the end of the French Route pilgrimage and offers free WiFi and outdoor parking. Spacious rooms feature flat-screen TVs and air conditioning. The Roi Xordo restaurant serves traditional cuisine with city views, and the hotel is close to Palacio de Congresos and City of Culture of Galicia.

The room is spacious, well arranged, and especially well soundproofed against highway noise below. The hotel is outside the city, but a bus takes you downtown where parking is hard to find. Breakfast is generous. The hallway noises are unfortunately always caused by disrespectful guests.

There’s parking right at the hotel, but the place is very drafty. The website advertised a different setup for the booked room (two armchairs instead of one chair) and more space. The wardrobe had no doors, and the safe was left open on the floor in the open wardrobe.

The staff were nice and the rooms were clean, but the overall experience with the staff and the hotel was disappointing.

I was impressed by the friendly staff, the good value for money, the spotless cleanliness, the great bed and pillows, the spacious room, and the proximity to the airport.

The first night our room was fine, but the second night we were moved to a room with terrible lighting that did not match the hotel’s standards; we paid 88 euros for the first night and 116 euros for the second without any explanation, which is a very bad rating for the Hotel de Compostelle.
