Cape Weligama - Relais and Chateaux sits atop a 40m-high promontory overlooking the Indian Ocean. This cliff-top resort features three dining options with dramatic ocean views, serving Sri Lankan and European cuisine. Luxurious suites and villas have private terraces, flat-screen TVs, and spa services. The resort boasts shared infinity pools, a spa villa, and fitness centre, near snorkelling, stilt fishing, and whale watching spots, 30 minutes east of Galle.

Beautiful location, large rooms and friendly staff. Food was served cold at dinner, breakfast was average, television in the room didn’t work, bars at the swimming pools shut at 630 pm and the bed wasn’t comfortable

It was a fantastic experience from start to finish. We were greeted with great warmth and attention; the staff were always extremely friendly, helpful, and attentive. We really appreciated the little touches, from the welcome drink and postcards to the warm napkin offered upon arrival, especially after a rainy day. The handling of luggage was flawless, both at arrival and at check‑out. We were pleasantly surprised by the upgrade that let us stay in a beautiful villa with a private pool. The room was simply wonderful, with a very spacious bathroom, a large bathtub, and a shower that also served as a Turkish bath. We also loved the cinnamon products, the well‑stocked minibar, and the special touches like champagne with fruit and everything needed for an in‑room aperitif. Service was truly excellent, thanks in part to the personal WhatsApp chat available 24/7, which made every request extremely simple and fast. The resort is gorgeous: spectacular pools, a stunning beach, meticulously cared for gardens, and a structure maintained with great attention. We also enjoyed the bar area, with billiards and books, which made the atmosphere even more pleasant and relaxed. The poolside service was impressive, even providing three towels per person. The gym was very nice. The food was great, and the breakfast was simply exceptional, very abundant with an incredible selection of dishes to order. Overall, a resort polished in every detail and capable of offering a truly rare level of hospitality.

Absolutely everything. One of the best hotels and rooms we’ve ever stayed at. The location was stunning. Service and food were amazing. Rooms were fabulous. Honestly, it was fantastic. The only two minor issues were: 1) In August the mosquitoes were quite bad, so wearing repellent is essential, especially at night, but it didn’t ruin our stay—just something to be aware of. 2) The dinner menu for younger children is a little fancy if your kids are picky. Food, however, was amazing as mentioned.
