Amarela Resort, on Panglao Island's southwest coast, offers a tropical retreat with a private beach, on-site restaurant, and outdoor pool. Rustic rooms feature flat-screen TVs, DVD players, and minibars. Guests enjoy a daily buffet breakfast, local cuisine, and room service. On-site activities include fishing, diving, and snorkeling, with a library, art gallery, and gift shop also available.

The ambience and staff made it feel like a boutique hotel. Loved the library and the beachfront. The food was great.

The service was outstanding—friendly, warm, and welcoming, giving the vibe of home. The hotel itself is lovely, filled with antiques, stunning gardens, and sits above the sea with a private white beach. Rooms are a bit small, but the beds are very comfortable and the shower is convenient. Inside the hotel there's a beautiful art gallery and a reading floor with hundreds of films to borrow. The only downside I noticed was that the room size felt a bit cramped and the drink station is tucked inside the closet.
